Adjusting Your Leadership Volume
Kaplan, B., & Kaiser, R. (2007). Adjusting your leadership volume. Leader to Leader, 43, 13-18.
Some people perpetually talk too loudly in public - and all the more so on cell phones! Other people are chronically soft-spoken; you often have to strain to hear them in meetings or against the background noise of a passing car. Effective speakers know how to modulate their voices so the volume is neither too high nor too low. Effective leadership requires a similar ability.
