The surge in popularity of 360-degree feedback has taken place during a revival of interest in the role of personality in organizations. This session if for those who use both types of assessment tools together—especially in management develop. Topics include the complex, curvilinear relationship between managers’ personality characteristics and ratings of their performance; how the personality of raters interacts with rating format and degree of anonymity to effect rating accuracy; how interpersonal incompetence—the “dark side” of personality”—is related to performance problems, and research-based guidance on the responsible use of the MBTI alongside 360s.
